Session Q & A
The most commonly asked questions are addressed on this page. If you cannot find the answer, please feel free to email me, I'll be more than happy to answer it.
Do you come to us, or do we come to you?
I am both an on location & studio photographer. I prefer to do on location shoots - be it the arboretum, a creek, or the railroad tracks. Because I find it is easier for people (especially kids!) to relax in an outdoor or familar atmosphere. I also have a studio in my home, and can shoot there as well. For baby -or- maternity photo shoots I can come to your home. Please discuss with me any ideas you may have about location - it is completely up to you!
How do I book a session?
Sessions may be reserved by calling me directly. We can discuss what you are looking for, the times that would work best, and all of your options and questions at that time. If it is easier, you can always e-mail me the date you have in mind, and we can go from there.
How do you show proofs?/Do we need to come back to view our proofs?
I will e-mail you a password to your private online viewing area under the Client Login area of this website when your pictures are ready. You will be able to view all of your portraits online in a slideshow presentation, which allows you to look at them as many times as you like and make your decisions, and doesn't require travel on your part. You may also share your private password with family members, so that they can see your portraits. All of your ordering will be done either in person, over the phone, or by e-mail - whichever is the most convenient for you. I am always available to discuss any questions you may have regarding sizing, color options, or anything else you might need help with, and to make recommendations.
How long do I have to place my order?
I prefer to get orders placed immediately. However, I understand that sometimes it can take a while to make a decision. Your personal gallery will be active for 30 days, and you will have until the end of those 30 days to place your order.
How long until I see my finished portraits
I try to get your finished portraits back to you within about 10 business days of your order. Sometimes, especially during the holidays, this isn't always possible, but I do my best to stay within that time frame. If you have special circumstances, I will do my best to accommodate them. Just let me know!
What if I am not happy with my portraits?
I take great pride in doing my best, and providing you with beautiful portraits that you will treasure. However, just for peace of mind...all portrait sessions have a risk-free guarantee, and I will be happy to schedule a re-shoot if you are not satisfied!
What should I bring with me?
If there is something special that you would like to use in your portaits, you are more than welcome to bring it. A child's blanket, a favorite book, a stuffed animal, or a prized baseball glove are good examples of props that can help make a child feel more comfortable and make the image all the more meaningful to you. Seniors, you are more than welcome to bring your medals, varsity jacket, instruments, and any other prop you may want in your senior portraits. Please let me know ahead of time of props you may be using.
What should I wear
Clothing is vitally important! It can make or break an image. Just remember - Anything that competes with your face is going to make a difference in your final portrait.
